E-Bike RentalBayahibe
The freedom to explore Bayahibe and Dominicus, with the confidence of a rugged, easy to use ride. Delivered from our store on the Coral highway.
Why Rent an E-Bike from Eco Planeta?
We have sold, rented and serviced electric vehicles in the Dominican Republic since 2011. The bike and the people behind it come from the same place.
Free delivery and pickup
We deliver across Bayahibe, from Dominicus to Bayahibe Village, and collect the bikes at the end of the rental.
Discounts that grow with the rental
The longer you rent, the lower the daily rate. The discount is applied automatically when you book online, and discount codes stack on top when we are running them.
Pedal assist or throttle
Pedal when you want the exercise and use the throttle when you do not. The same bike does both, so nobody in the group gets left behind on a hill.
50 km of range
A full charge covers roughly 50 kilometres, which is more than a day of riding for most guests. Recharging is a normal wall outlet and the cable in the box.
Chain lock and charger included
Every rental comes with a chain lock and a charging cable, so you can park the bike safely and top it up overnight without buying anything extra.
A local team behind the bike
Our technicians are in Bayahibe, not at the end of a call centre queue. If something goes wrong we fix the bike, and if we cannot fix it quickly we replace it.

E-Bike Rental FAQ for Bayahibe
Do you deliver e-bikes to the whole of Bayahibe?
Yes. We deliver anywhere in Bayahibe, including Dominicus and Bayahibe Village, and collect the bikes when your rental ends.
Does Eco Planeta give e-bike rental discounts?
Yes. Your discount is calculated automatically when you book online, based on the number of days you rent: the longer the rental, the bigger the discount. We also publish discount codes from time to time that add an extra discount at checkout.
What is included in the rental?
The e-bike, a chain lock and a charging cable. Delivery and pickup are included as well.
Where am I allowed to ride the e-bike?
On normal roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h. Take care when you share the road with traffic that moves faster than you do.
Am I allowed to use the e-bike on the beach?
No. Never ride our e-bikes on the beach. Sand and salt water damage the bike, and the repair cost is charged to the renter.
What is the range of the e-bike?
Roughly 50 kilometres. The exact range depends on your speed, how many people are on the bike and whether you pedal along.
What is the top speed of the e-bikes?
The top speed of our e-bikes is capped at 30 km/h.
Can I use the e-bike without pedalling?
Yes. Use the throttle button and the e-bike moves without pedalling, which makes it behave much like a moped.
How can I charge the battery?
Every e-bike is delivered with a charging cable that plugs into a normal outlet. It works just like charging your phone.
How many people are allowed on your e-bikes?
We have two types of e-bike: one carries a single rider and the other carries two. Never carry more people than the bike you rented is built for, because any damage that results is charged to the renter.
How do I lock the e-bike?
Every e-bike comes with a chain lock. Always chain the bike to something fixed, such as a lamppost or a fence, when you park it.
What should I do if I get a flat tire, the battery dies or I have another problem during my ride?
Contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp at +1 829-954-8965. We send one of our experienced technicians to fix the e-bike as soon as possible, and if a quick repair is not possible we replace the bike. Our Bayahibe team is ready to help.
Riding an E-Bike in Bayahibe
Bayahibe is small enough to explore properly and just spread out enough that walking it in the middle of the day is no fun. The fishing village, the boat pier for Isla Saona and Isla Catalina, Playa Dominicus and the hotels along it sit a few kilometres apart on flat, easy roads. An e-bike turns that into a five minute hop.
Mornings are the best time to ride, before the day trips leave and while the road along the bay is quiet. The bikes are capped at 30 km/h and the roads here carry real traffic, including tour buses on the way to the pier, so stay to the right and use the lights at dusk.
Where people ride
- Bayahibe Village: the fishing village, the restaurants on the bay and the pier.
- Playa Dominicus: the long public beach and the hotel strip behind it.
- Parque Nacional Cotubanamá: the entrance is an easy ride from the village.
Sand and salt water are hard on any bike, so keep off the beach itself. If you need to carry a group or beach gear, see our golf cart rental in Dominicus Bayahibe.
