E-Bike Rental FAQ for Punta Cana

Do you deliver e-bikes to the whole of Punta Cana?

Yes. We deliver to all the major resorts and areas, including Cap Cana, Vista Cana, Bávaro and Puntacana Resort and Club. Give us the delivery address when you book and we confirm the time with your rental agreement.

Does Eco Planeta give e-bike rental discounts?

Yes. Your discount is calculated automatically when you book online, based on the number of days you rent: the longer the rental, the bigger the discount. We also publish discount codes from time to time that add an extra discount at checkout.

What is included in the rental?

The e-bike, a chain lock and a charging cable. Delivery and pickup are included as well.

Where am I allowed to ride the e-bike?

On normal roads with a speed limit of 50 km/h. Inside resorts such as Cap Cana you have to use the golf cart paths.

Am I allowed to use the e-bike on the beach?

No. Never ride our e-bikes on the beach. Sand and salt water damage the bike, and the repair cost is charged to the renter.

What is the range of the e-bike?

Roughly 50 kilometres. The exact range depends on your speed, how many people are on the bike and whether you pedal along.

What is the top speed of the e-bikes?

The top speed of our e-bikes is capped at 30 km/h.

Can I use the e-bike without pedalling?

Yes. Use the throttle button and the e-bike moves without pedalling, which makes it behave much like a moped.

How can I charge the battery?

Every e-bike is delivered with a charging cable that plugs into a normal outlet. It works just like charging your phone.

How many people are allowed on your e-bikes?

We have two types of e-bike: one carries a single rider and the other carries two. Never carry more people than the bike you rented is built for, because any damage that results is charged to the renter.

How do I lock the e-bike?

Every e-bike comes with a chain lock. Always chain the bike to something fixed, such as a lamppost or a fence, when you park it.

What should I do if I get a flat tire, the battery dies or I have another problem during my ride?

Contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp at +1 829-954-1574. We send one of our experienced technicians to fix the e-bike as soon as possible, and if a quick repair is not possible we replace the bike. Our Punta Cana team is ready to help.

Riding an E-Bike in Punta Cana

Punta Cana is spread out. The distance from a Bávaro hotel to a restaurant in Downtown Punta Cana, or from Vista Cana to the beach, is far enough to be tiring on foot and short enough that a taxi each way starts to feel wasteful. An e-bike sits neatly in between: 50 km of range covers a full day of moving around, and the throttle means the afternoon heat is not a reason to stay in.

The bikes are capped at 30 km/h, which keeps them legal on roads with a 50 km/h limit. Inside the gated resorts the rules are stricter, so use the golf cart paths where they exist and keep to walking pace around pedestrians.
