Forklift Rental FAQ for Santiago
Do you deliver rental forklifts in Santiago?
Yes. We deliver to your site from our Puerto Plata store, roughly an hour from the city, and collect the machine at the end of the rental. Send us the delivery address, your dates and any access restrictions, such as gate height or a loading dock, and we will confirm the arrangement with the quote.
How much does it cost to rent a forklift in Santiago?
The rate depends on the capacity, the mast height, the length of the rental and the delivery distance, so there is no single list price. Tell us what you need to lift, how high and for how long, and we will send a written quote quickly.
How long can I rent a forklift for?
From a couple of weeks for a project up to multi year contracts. Short term suits refits, seasonal peaks and cover for a machine that is out of service. Long term suits an operation that needs the capacity permanently but prefers not to buy.
What is included in the rental?
The forklift, its lithium battery and charger, and scheduled maintenance carried out by our technicians on your site. Operators are not included, and the site provides the power for charging. Anything else is set out on the quote so there are no surprises.
Which capacity forklift do I need?
Take the heaviest load you handle, add the weight of the pallet or attachment, and allow for the load centre: loads that sit further out from the fork face reduce the rated capacity. Send us the load, the lift height and the aisle width and we will specify the machine for you.
Can I charge a rental forklift at my site?
Yes. The chargers run off normal site power, and because the batteries are lithium they can be topped up during breaks without shortening battery life. We confirm the supply your site needs before delivery, so nothing is a surprise on the day.
What happens if the machine breaks down?
Call us and our mobile technicians come to the machine. Because we hold the largest material handling parts inventory in the country, most repairs are completed without waiting on an imported part.
Can I buy the forklift instead of renting?
Yes. We sell the same Noblelift machines with a one year warranty and a five year warranty on the lithium battery, and financing is available in US dollars through Banco Popular Dominicano over 6, 12 or 24 months with a 15% downpayment. Ask us for a purchase quote at any point during a rental.
Do you rent equipment other than forklifts?
Yes. Alongside counterbalanced forklifts we handle reach trucks, electric stackers, electric pallet jacks, aerial work platforms and cleaning equipment. If you need several types on one site, put them on one request and we will quote them together.
Do you have a store in Santiago?
Our five stores are in Casa de Campo, Cap Cana, Bayahibe, Puerto Plata and Santo Domingo. Santiago is served from Puerto Plata, roughly an hour away, with support from Santo Domingo. Delivery, collection and on-site service are all included in the arrangement, so there is no need for you to travel to a store.
Can you rent forklifts to free zone plants in Santiago?
Yes. Free zone manufacturing is one of the main reasons companies in Santiago rent from us. Send us the load, the lift height, the aisle width and the shift pattern, and we will specify a machine that fits the plant rather than a generic capacity.
Renting a Forklift in Santiago
Santiago de los Caballeros is the second largest city in the country and the centre of the Cibao valley. Its economy is built on manufacturing and agro-industry: free zone plants producing tobacco, textiles and medical devices, food and beverage processors, and distributors serving the whole northern region.
Plants of that kind tend to own their core fleet and rent around it. The typical request we get from Santiago is a machine to cover scheduled downtime on an owned unit, extra capacity for a production peak, or a specific capacity that the in-house fleet does not have.

We serve Santiago from our Puerto Plata store, roughly an hour away on the north coast highway, with support from Santo Domingo when a specific machine is needed. We deliver to the free zone parks and industrial areas in and around the city, and quote other Cibao locations on request.
The free zone parks we deliver to most often are Zona Franca de Santiago, Zona Franca del Parque Industrial de Herrera, Zona Franca del Parque Industrial de Tamboril and Zona Franca Industrial de los Valles de Cibao.
