Toyota Forklift Alternative

Toyota Forklift Alternative

by Mauricio Cooiman

Toyota forklifts are not only among the most popular in the Dominican Republic, they are among the most popular in the world.

As lithium battery performance improves and costs fall, more and more forklift manufacturers are making the transition to electric forklifts.

One of the most successful manufacturers of electric forklifts is Noblelift. In this article we compare Toyota forklifts with Noblelift electric forklifts and show you why Noblelift is an excellent alternative to Toyota.

Purchase Cost and Operating Costs Are Much Lower on a Noblelift Forklift

The main difference between the Noblelift and the Toyota is that the Noblelift is electric. That makes the Noblelift electric forklift cheaper both to buy and to run, thanks to the lower price of electricity and the reduced maintenance costs of electric motors.

Purchase Price

The Noblelift FE4P25Q has a lower starting price than the Toyota FGZN25. The Noblelift also stays more affordable once you add extras, such as a taller mast than the standard option.

Load Capacity and Lift Height

The Noblelift and the Toyota have the same load capacity. Toyota, however, offers fewer mast height options (up to 6000 mm) than Noblelift (up to 6500 mm). Keep in mind that greater mast heights reduce load capacity.

Energy Efficiency and Power Source

One of the biggest factors in forklift operating costs is the power source. Electricity costs far less than gasoline. On top of that, electric motors are much more efficient than gasoline engines. That makes the Noblelift far cheaper to operate than the Toyota.

Maintenance Requirements and Reliability

Electric forklifts like the Noblelift need far less maintenance and are more reliable than gasoline engines, because they have fewer moving parts. That also translates into lower costs for maintenance parts and labour hours.

Toyota offers a longer standard warranty (3 years) than Noblelift (1 year), but an extended warranty is available for Noblelift forklifts. Even with that added cost, the Noblelift still comes in cheaper than the Toyota. Worth noting: the Noblelift lithium battery carries a standard 5 year warranty.

Ergonomics and Operator Comfort

Toyota gasoline forklifts can generate more vibration and heat than Noblelift electric forklifts. That can lead to greater operator fatigue and a higher risk of accidents. The Noblelift, by contrast, produces no emissions and runs at a very low noise level, which makes it ideal for indoor use in warehouses.

Conclusion

The only area where the Toyota FGZN25 genuinely beats the Noblelift FE4P25Q is warranty length (3 years against 1 year). Keep in mind that the Noblelift warranty can be extended, and even then the Noblelift purchase price stays below the Toyota. On operating costs the Noblelift is the clear winner as well. So if you want the cheapest forklift with the lowest operating costs, go for the Noblelift FE4P25Q.
